Tourism Thailand Announces the 2012 Thailand Through the Lens Winners

The wait is over…

…Tourism Thailand, EVA Airways and Nikon are delighted to announce the four Thailand Through the Lens 2012 competition winners:

Gavin Burnett

Peter Ellegard

Mel Boyle

Marina Imperi

These four lucky people will each receive a Nikon D3200 camera with 18-55ml lens courtesy of Nikon and are jetting off to Thailand in February 2013 on a 10-day photography assignment hosted by Tourism Thailand on EVA Airways.

Tourism Thailand were overwhelmed by the number of entrants again this year, around 700 people in total entered the competition, a fantastic result and even more reason for the four finalists to be so proud!

Here are the photographs each of the winners entered and their reaction when Tourism Thailand called them to tell them the good news!

Gavin Burnett – the judges liked the fantastic quality and variety of Gavin’s photographs.

“Really? I didn’t expect that. You’ve made my week!”

Mel Boyle – the judges particularly liked the variety of photographs and skills shown. The ‘man and goat’ photo made everyone laugh too!

“Holy schmolly. Thank you. Thank you!”

Marina Imperi – the judges particularly liked the arty, reflection photographs

“Wow, thank you. My heart is racing!”

Peter Ellegard – the judges particularly liked Peter’s skill to capture people which is handy when Thailand is known as the Land of Smiles!

“Oh wow, really? That’s made my day!”

Congratulations again to all four winners!

Look out for their photography trip blog next year when they return from Thailand and we will also share a selection of their photographs taken on the trip.
