aMAYzing Movie Month – Tourism Thailand Launches New HD Promotional Films on You Tube

On the 1st May 2012 Tourism Thailand (TAT) launched a brand new YouTube channel called Thailand Reunited and to raise awareness of the 26 brand new HD videos they now provide, are running a campaign called ‘aMAYzing Movie Month’ on their Thailand Fan Club Facebook page, search: Thailand Fan Club on Facebook.

A selection of 31 short clips have been edited and will be posted each day on the Thailand Fan Club Facebook wall throughout the month of May to entertain fans and drive them to the YouTube channel to see more of Thailand on film. There is a variety of ‘Did You Know?’, ‘Wish you were here…’ and ‘Have you ever…’ themed clips to provide our fans with some fun and interesting facts on Facebook in May.

Providing much more interesting and engaging content for consumers is key to the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) marketing objectives for 2012-13 and they are delighted to launch a brand new series of promotional films for consumers, trade and media to enjoy and use. “Video is becoming increasingly important to improve the quality of content on our online channels and increase our SEO ranking. As a popular tourism destination we also want to be able to provide our trade and media partners with the best resources to promote Thailand” said Joanna Cooke, Consumer Marketing & PR Manager TAT UK.

10 days. 2 crews. 1 mission…to film the best of amazing Thailand! The TAT commissioned travelguru.tv to shoot and produce a series of brand new HD promotional films about Thailand. The two crews covered Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak and Khao Sok National Park the destinations themselves and the variety of experiences that can be enjoyed at each.

A series of 26 edits have been put together and follow the adventures of intrepid presenters Amanda Statham (Globetrotter and Travel Editor for Cosmopolitan, You & Your Wedding magazines) and Michael Absalom (Actor, TV Presenter & Sports Commentator). “The videos are about their experiences in Thailand from learning to kite surf, spa, diving, 48 hours in Bangkok, cycling, home-stays, and exploring rainforests, to simply enjoying the best of Thailand’s beaches.” There is also a Top 10 Things to Do in Thailand, four films about the variety of accommodation and another four that introduce you to each area of Thailand. For first timers to Thailand there is a fantastic Thailand overview film which shows the wide variety the country has to offer.

“We are delighted with the results. The new videos look amazing and we are confident that they will inspire lots of new visitors to Thailand and encourage repeat tourists to try something new perhaps” continued Joanna.
